A letter I got today.

At TrainFest 2013 in Milwaukee, I bought a DVD of paper model kits from Clever Models. At home, I found it was mislabeled, not the collection I wanted. I emailed the company and they handled the issue quickly and fairly. I couldn’t be happier. I teach college courses in marketing and public relations, and Clever Models owners and founders Thom & David Miecznikowski get an “A.”

Their model kits are great, too.

Back from Trainfest and trying to catch up.

Hello everyone.  It’s good to be back home.  Our trip to Trainfest went much better than expected and we all had a good time.  I will try to post the few pix that I had a chance to take when I get some time.  It’s good and bad that while we were there you all were still ordering DVD and such and I have a backlog to deal with.  I appreciate your patience if you are waiting for a shipment.

On the “I DID A DUMB THING” adgenda is fixing a problem.  Seems that in my haste to produce product for the show I put First Street labels on HO Scale Steel DVDs.  I’m pretty sure it’s only 10 or less.  I have already accounted for 4.  SO!, If you bought an HO 1st. Street DVD, at the show, please open it up and check it.  If it turns out to be an HO Steel DVD, please email us your Name and address so we can send you a correct DVD.  You can email us at <mize1@sbcglobal.net> or you can call my home number, (708) 339-7523 and leave a message.  We are seldom around to answer.

Sorry for the hassle, but STUFF HAPPENS!  Oh yea, you can obviously keep the Steel disc, with our compliments.

Anyway, the show went really well.  We met alot of folks who had never heard of us.  We sold alot of DVD’s and Shingles.  Thom’s new HOn30 New England based dock and mine layout was a big hit.  We didn’t have access to power so we ran the layout from a single 6v battery, recycled from an old emergency light.  I can’t believe that the layout ran continuously for 21 hours without recharging.

Hopefully, I will have some video of that up soon also.

Lastly, we will be getting a new button up on the website that will say “BUY SHINGLES”  it will allow you to purchase just the same as buying a DVD.  They are $20.00 per package and cover about 48 sq.” on O and 56 sg.” in HO.  As we have previously announced, you not only get the shingles, but tarpaper and underlayment.  Shipping and handling will be $5.00 per order up to 5 packages.  It will be automatically calculated, once we get the button up.

Heading out to trainfest tomorrow

This will be our first time with a table at Trainfest. In the past we visited with our good buddy John Kosma at his fantastic Gypsy Trolly Line. (it gets bigger every year) A must see if your attending.

We are about two thirds of the way back and in the center (kind of) sharing tables with Park Lane hobbies. We will be showing or new demo layout.  A narrow gauge coast line and mining short line and of course offering a good discount on DVD’s

We will also have the first of our shingle product available. Quantities are limited so pick up a couple of packs so you can taunt your friends who missed out.

That reminds me, I need to make a new button for the web page.
