When first assembling the models, I used alcohol-based Sharpies to colour the cuts. I found the alcohol bled into the fibres of the cardstock, diminishing the look of the finished model. On visiting a friend who is a WWI model airplane modeller, I discovered he used paint markers to finish off his models. A visit to my local hobby shop revealed a good supply of paint markers - just the right size of "point" to colour that white cut line. No more wicking of the colour into the fibres. A more professional-looking model.
