New Video Available to view

If you look down the left side of the page, you will see a link to a video of Thom’s On30 layout at Trainfest.  I’m sorry that I’m not the best photographer around, but it gives you a good idea of what the layout looks like.  And remember that all of the buildings and the trains are made from cardstock.  Most are kits that are available.  Some of the buildings are scratch built or kitbashed.  Hope you like it.  Just click on the title below the picture and you will go to the Vimeo web site.  Click there to play the video.  If you just click on the picture here, you will only get a slice of the video visible.

A brief report on Trainfest and new DVD status

Hello everyone.  Got back from Trainfest at about 11:00 PM last night and just wanted to give you a quick note on the show.

We were in a really good location on the main traffic aisle and the show seemed really well attended and yes, many of you came by to say hello.  Sales of the new Vol 2 texture DVD were not great, but OK.

What I was REALLY surprised about was the number of folks that said that they had never heard of us before.  (I have to fire the advertising department.  Oh yea, I don’t have one.  Hmmm..)

Another thing that surprised me was that the clinics were all just about filled.  I did a hour  clinic that I hoped would just be a big Q & A session and it was and it was very good.  Many of the folks that attended (There were about 40.) were active paper modelers and we got to share some tips that I hope were useful.  Since I really got to talk for only about 45 minutes, we unofficially continued the clinic in our booth and had a really good time.

Thom’s HOn30 layout ran flawlessly, as usual, and if I can figure out how to get the video off my Ipad, I’ll post it.

One really exciting thing that happened was we met the the folks from All Scale Rails, a fairly new on-line magazine.  They have been publishing for a year or so.  But any way, one conversation led to another and between them and us and Dave Sakrison, we are probably going to put together what I expect to be fairly lengthy step-by-step article on exactly what it takes to take one of our kits (Don’t know which one yet.  Probably something new.) and put out a really craftsman level build.  We’re going to be getting together to discuss, what, where, how, when and why in the near future.  I’ll keep you posted.

Well, I’m back at my day job and trying to recuperate from the trip and as soon as I do I will get out all the new DVD’s that you guys pre-ordered.  Should be shipped in a day or to.  (I hope.)
