ROADSIDE STAND

A small blue clapboard and standing seam roadside produce stand that could easily do double duty as a rail yard shanty. This kit features a fully visible interior through large screen windows. Screen material is NOT included, but available separately from MicroScale.

2 BAY STONE BLOCK GARAGE

Some buildings don’t call attention to themselves, they just look right. This model was originally designed from photographs taken in Milwaukee. The original calls the ‘Gypsy Trolley Line’ its’ home.
We wil be releasing several of the models from that line in the future.
This is the first model that Mr. John Kosma let us work from his original photos and files so we could make it available to everyone.

INSULBRICK STORAGE BUILDING/GARAGE

The same footprint as the garage but made of very distressed sheets of Insulbrick with a brick pattern. The Insulbrick garage is another great small outbuilding. This garage is another example of a basic, inexpensive starter kit that will look great anywhere on your railroad.

FRAME STORAGE BUILDING/GARAGE

The same footprint as the garage, but made of yellow/tan clapboard.
This one is also good as a small outbuilding. It also works as a companion to the Mercantile building.
It is a simple and inexpensive starter kit, and will look great everywhere on your railroad.

GATEMANS' TOWER

The 2nd & Commerce Gatemans Tower is based on a prototype on the Milwaukee road in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
This 1920’s vintage gate house was in operation well into the 70’s. I know of other octagonal gate houses in other locations and, in fact, saw one here in a Chicago rail yard.
In O scale this kit has a footprint of barely 2”, however the staircase extends another 3” further out.
The building experience was a real pleasure.
Its a challenging kit that demands careful attention but as you can see, makes a striking building.

Comes with 2nd floor interior.

SMALL FORGE BUILDING

This small industrial building is a compilation of several small factories. It could be a small forge, glass blowing plant or heavy machine repair shop. It features a large rooftop window bay, a sheet metal roof, vents and blowers.
There is a tall freight door on one side.
The roof bay can be shortened or left off all-together, so combining multiples of this kit to create a big industry is a natural.
This model is a great partner to our steel sided building and Quonset hut.

FURNITURE FACTORY

This wood frame factory building is based on a photograph of the J.L. Simon Furniture factory and is typical of many backwoods industries found all over West Virginia and Pennsylvania.
It is made from a very distressed, red painted clapboard and a tar paper roof. We were drawn to the unusually low side wings and its ‘home made’ look.

TURBINE HOUSE

Pump house, sewage plant or telephone switching station.

QUONSET HUT

Found everywhere and probably our best selling kit. We think our Quonset hut is the best kit of its kind anywhere. Available in clean white or heavily rusted. It features an optional side loading bay, several dormers and a roll-up steel door.
Easy to build our Quonset Hut is a great starter kit for those just getting into building with card stock.

BRICK GARAGE

A brick, 2 bay structure, that was found while touring the alleys of Chicagos’ Rogers Park neighborhood.

What caught our eye, was the slightly larger size and the loft above the garage doors.

Buildings like this were common to urban neighborhoods, which often had (and still have) small industries running “out back”.

This would make a great auto shop, welding shop, out building or even a garage.

This kit comes with 2 different roofs, several types of doors, a small dormer and a small shed.

This is a fun and easy kit.

THE MERCANTILE

The mercantile can add a lot of character in a small space. Featuring advertising graphics and moderate weathering, this is a great kit for modelers just getting started with card models. The timber loading dock is a separate, stand alone kit that is included.

JEFFERSON ICE Co.

Ice distributors like the Jefferson Ice Co. were a common, even iconic sight found in most moderate sized towns.
From the 30’s through the early 60’s, they supplied ice in blocks and cubes to industries and homes until ice became a do-it-yourself activity. The Jefferson Ice Company was torn down in late 2008.
We were fortunate to find it, before that, in Des Plaines, IL.

This kit is an exact duplicate, photographically researched and computer modeled.
It is a challenging and beautiful model when carefully built.

THE WAREHOUSE

Recently redesigned and improved, the warehouse is a great companion to the plant #2 kit. The warehouse also lends its self to being built as a low relief background building.

This is your typical Alluminum Shiner from the 40’s & 50’s. This one was used for selling Christmas Trees in a vacant lot on the streets of Rogers Park in Chicago. 3 complete trailers with different color striping.

Cream City Tool Works

This is our rendition of the actual Cream City complex located in the Milwaukee area. The original photos of these fantastic buildings were taken by our good friend John Kosma. He built the prototype model and we converted it to the kit version you see here. I think it speaks for itself. Currently this kit is only available in HO Scale. It will probably be on the upcoming Vol. 2 BRICK & MORTAR disk, (2010 release) but we have had so many requests for this kit that we thought we would make a few available in pre-printed format. Only 25 will be printed. After these are gone, you will have to wait for the disk.
