Discussion > Changing colors

Has anybody had any success changing the colors of any of the kit componants? I have been using high end artist's markers to vary the shade of green on the Flag Stop kit. I wonder if the base color can be change somehow before printing. I'm thinking I could use more of the product if it could be made to match my railroad's paint scheme. Any ideas?

Rick, If you have access to a graphic software package like photoshop you can get a wide range of colores by adjusting the "hue and saturation" setting. Go to the tool bar and under "image" click on "adjust" then" Hue saturation". By sliding the top slider you can shift through a wide range of shades. Under some circumstances you might need to isolate thr color you want to change by creating a "selection".
Hope this helps.

Rick,

Can you post some of your work for us to see? I would be interested in seeing what you are up to.

Hey Ben,

I will post pictures soon. Right now I have a O scale Plymouth that I am trying to finish for a local club contest. I have one more day left to work on it! My Clever flagstop model has to take a backseat for a couple more days.

FWIW I do have 3 sides finished, and all the interior stuff is either downloaded or drawn and printed up to include a brick foundation. I'm building it as a scale house/office at a coal load out on my layout.
