Discussion > Great alternative and alot more fun to make

I have been making cardboard models for years, mostly ship models from a company call Digital Navy. If you like cardboard model building you might want to check them out. I always wondered if, if done properly, could cardboard models of houses for train layouts could be done ? I have seen alot of sites that claim to make good reproductions but Clever model is the Digital Navy of cardboard scale model kits.
I find cutting and layering cardboard models very relaxing and satisfying and the greatest part of it all is if you mess up a piece, just print another, it takes the pressure out of model building that you have when you have an expensive plastic model kit.
My best advice to anyone making these models is to take your time, cut the pieces as close as possible be be aware that scoring the folds accurately is the most important part of cardboard modeling because most models have tabs and cutting accuracy is not as important as accurately scoring the lines for the folds.

Thanks again Clever Models, I am going to be laying down tracks for my HO scale model railroad over the next few weeks and your models will be on my layout. Thanks again.

Jduv, Thanks for the compliment. I love "digital navy's" stuff. Card stock for me is the most satisfying material. I'll never go back to plastic.
