Hi Thom,
Thanks for the nice comment.
I need to make one of your HO scale Coal Conveyors to look like it is loading scrap wood into this Boxcar, maybe sitting next to a model of your Furniture Company.

That coal loader is a challenge but real satisfying to build.

Hey Bill. Like Thom said, the coal loader can be a handful. Please note that it is not long enough to load over the top of the side, but through the side, it should be just fine. Although you could splice it and make it taller. I can't, off the top of my head, remember if you have the 1st Street disc, which is where the loader is, but do you have the pix that go with the loader. They are very helpful.

Hi,
I got my HO Coal Loader as a separate file from Dave just over a year ago so if their are pictures other then the ones posted here I don't have them.
I do have several train magazine articles about making a coal conveyor such as one from the Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette, one from RMC and one from MR.
I am doing a "test" build first to see how things go together and if I want to make any changes such as a longer conveyor. I will also be using a pair of the smaller wheels from the Jordan "Old Farm Wagon" kit #107. They match the size of the ones in your HO kit.

The 4L yahoo group has had a Hog Fuel Boxcar topic for the last week or so and when someone posted the link to this picture I decided to "kit-bash" one of my HOn30 Clever Models Card Stock Boxcars into something like it.
The prototype, standard gauge:

I have a bit of work yet to do on the frame part and need a pair of couplers. The story with this boxcar is it that it was recycled from the scrap line and isn't in the best of shape but will be good enough for short trips.
