Hello Everyone I am new to this blog and site.
I am constructing a mid size o scale layout. I had a HO scale layout and scratch built a few of my buildings and also constructed Cornerstone buildings that turned out very nice. I even got in to the weathering. Now I am in to the larger scale and I am making a 3 tier layout. Bottom being a yard for the 2 trains that are running on the 2nd level and I have a logging loader - unloader plus a milk car ejecting milk cans. ( For the Grand Kids). The 3rd level will just have 2 trains that basically goes in a circle Using tunnels and over under bridges. Also using Gargraves flex track. The layout is 5 1/2 feet by 11 feet. I already have the yard built and am starting the second and third level. As you can imagine I do not have a lot of room and I started looking for some thing thin to use as a high retaining wall.
Well after looking for 3 days and getting ideas I came across this picture of a guy gluing a paper brick wall on to cardboard paper. I thought Bingo thats what I was looking for. It directed me to this sight and after looking at all the ideas and reading this blog I am excited about this whole idea. I was looking for some thing that would give me 8" high and I have to expand around 4 1/2 feet. I seen the block wall with arches and thought that would be perfect. I was reading all the ideas on gluing and the pictures that I've seen was using tack glue and a roller to roll out the bubles on to card stock. I was woundering on the idea of printing on to gummy peel back paper and just peel and stick it on to heavier card stock or construction paper then spraying it with the clear coat. Is there any veiws on this idea. I know that eventually I am going to try some of the buildings as my layout grows because I love doing things like that but, 1 thing at a time.

Sorry I said he used cardboard stock I looked back and The artical was in Railroad Model Craftsman and he used 1/2 inch poplar and glued the printed wall to it. Here is the URL.
http://rrmodelcraftsman.com/reviews/cm_review_clevermodels_textures.php . I thought that the peel and stick paper would work well on a smooth face board 1/4 inch thick. I also have a small cutting board with a roller knife to make it a lot easier to cut. Not sure how this will work but I am going to give it a try.
