Discussion > Kits without doors and windows?

I have often recommended your kits as templates for people uncomfortable with designing their own buildings if they want to scratch build something. Many like the surface texture and considered building the kit but do not want to fuss with the paper window and door construction. A thought is to cut out the windows and doors and replace with plastic windows. Unfortunately, the windows and doors are printed larger than the plastic ones so the substitution does not work. Have you ever considered selling some of the kits without doors and windows to allow some kit bashing with other materials? Scott

Good idea. I have brought the kits into my Paint Shop Pro and converted to a .jpg so I could do just that .. "board over" the doors and windows so I could use Tichy parts. It would be a lot easier if I could just print blank walls instead.

As the designer I consider window placement an important part of the design, We always provide enough material for modifications. I realise that many modelers are not cardstock purists and we are going to scale windows (some already are) to accommodate standard plastic replacements. We are however committed to card stock and feel they give the best results (I do like to double up on them)
