Discussion > Making Faded and Freshly Painted Signs on CM Textures
Because someone asked me how I put the G&D logo onto the water tank when I posted pics a couple months ago, I made a how-to blog post. Here are two "ghost signs" I made in The Gimp, along with a method of making them look less faded so they look recently painted.
I was right on the cusp of making a step-by-step how-to video, but the battery in my decent camera died, so it may have to wait a bit. Technology is a harsh mistress.
I use The Gimp because I'm a cheapskate, but the technique I outline here works equally well in Photoshop.
Since you instructed me how to do this a few months ago, this has proven to be incredibly useful to me. Thank you so much for sharing with me, and I am glad you are showing it to others as well.
