Discussion > Part of model is cut off

I have purchased several Clever model, plus a few of the "Freebies". On Freebie, the O Scale Wood Yard Shed prints but the last 1/4-inch is missing. The last board of the side is cut off and the Stop sign is cut off. I suppose I could print it at 95% or some such. But is there a easy to manipulate a pdf image upward on a page? There is nothing at the top of the page that is required for the structure.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Rob

I just had an inspiration: I opened the "O wood yard shed.pdf" in Adobe reader, rotated the image twice (it only goes 90-degrees at a time), then printed the pdf and voila, the word Clever and the name of the pdf at the top of the page got cut off and the parts that I needed to build it were printed completely and correctly.
Problem solved.
I guess that is how things go sometimes: ask the question and the answer will occur to you.
Anyway, I hope this helps someone else.

For s0me reason my files show up at 103% in Adobe. I always have to remember to change to 100% Maybe that is the reason?

I've had this problem, and the solution was to make sure my printer's paper choice was set to Borderless 8-1/2 x 11.

If I don't do this, the printer "thinks" it knows what I want, and either reduces the image to fit in the borders, or cuts off the edges of the image when I re-scale it.

Took me MONTHS of frustration to figure that out.

Well, printers must vary in their interpretation of "borderless". Using "actual size" and the "borderless" options, the printed image overflowed both top and bottom. My setup is Apple iMac with HP 8600 printer. There must be thousands of computer-printer combinations, so the answer to my problem is "it depends". My solution of rotating the image 180 degrees worked for me. Your mileage may vary.

Jerry,
That 103% may just be the size depicted on your screen. Mine says 83% when I open this file. If I change the 83% to 100%, what I see on the screen gets bigger.

You guys are all correct in your comments. I have tried countless printers and they all handle paper differently. Most has to do with their physical construction. Things like how far apart are the side edge rollers (if any). What is the distance to the first feed roller from the paper home position. The combinations are staggering. That's why it is so difficult to give hard and fast information on how to "fix" a particular issue. Sounds like you guys have gotten a good handle on this. I just wanted to stick my 2 cents worth in as a paper kit producer. Personally, I would like to leave a good 1" boarder around all files, but sometimes that really wastes a lot of space. This is why this forum is sooooo valuable.
Thank you all for participation.
