Discussion > HO scale gray stone garage roof

Can anyone explain how the roof is to be attached. There is a support piece with a red line around it. Is the roof supposed to be glued to this piece? If so, are the tabs on the support piece supposed to be bent up or down. Then what? This is very confusing. I did a pretty good job building Jefferson Ice until I got to the point I was to put on the roof which had the same instructions. That's when the pretty good job went down the drain. Does anyone have any pictures of the roof structure ready to be glued on the building? Thanks for any help.

The printed roof piece has four sides that fold up on the first bend line and then the rear and sides have another bend line that you fold down. The front wall portion of the roof stands straight up and the other three sides form a vertical side with a horizontal top. Kind of like a Z, but square, not angled. That whole piece gets glued to the roof support with the red line on it. Make sure you get the front facing the front. The tabs on that piece can really fold either way, but it makes more sense to fold them down. Put that whole assembly into the walls that you should already have built. the friction of the tabs should hold it in place. Level the horizontal top tab of the roof to the top edge of the outer wall. Next, without disturbing the level, dribble your glue between what is now the inner and outer walls of the parapet. Once that is solid, you can roll the parts that represent the tile coping and glue to the inner and outer walls, covering the horizontal tab. The stone caps for the front wall just get glued in place, spanning the inner and outer walls. This is darn near identical to the construction on the Ice House roof. Good luck.
