Discussion > Silhouette Cameo Cutting Tool

Has anyone used the Silhouette Cameo Cutting Tool on a cardstock kit? The uTube demo shows parts of a building being cut from cardstock, but I want to be sure that it will correctly cut a Clever Models kit before I spend $250.00 on one.

Donald,
This comment is based solely on what my experience and guts tell me. I don't think any cutter, of any kind will accurately cut a Clever Models kit. Notice in the previous link what has been cut. Big, relatively plain shaped pieces with very well defines edges. While, I'm sure it is a really great tool, but until I see it repetitively cut out something like an O scale 12 pane window, I don't think I'd buy one. All it really did was cut out nice holes to put a plastic casting in. That's not really difficult.

The cameo might not be the right choice. I am ring a test right now.it looking promising and I will put pictures up soon.
So far I've only done the software part where you scan in the model and create the cutting path. The kit is tinted through the software and registration marks are added.so far so good. I'm waiting my turn on the cutter. It can definitely cover the close tolerances. But like any computer based tool it will take adjustment and some false starts should be anticipated.
