Discussion > HO scale small rural depot - advice

Hi all,
I am not an expert modeler but I have constructed many cardboard buildings inc some from Clever Models. I am building the HO scale small rural depot. Its a beautiful building and things are going well so far. The end roof bracket is giving me some problems, that fine curve is proving very difficult. Has anyone successfully made this bracket in cardboard? I am considering a laminated wood structure...
Thanks for any ideas,
Geoff

You have made reference to "cardboard" in your comment twice. Are you using the term generically and actually using card stock and are you really using cardboard. If you are attempting to use cardboard, that is your problem. Even the thinnest cardboard is way too thick. I don't think you will ever be able to cut those curves. I would suggest nothing thicker than #60 card stock. Actually, if I were doing it, I would probably use about #45. It is simply decorative. It doesn't need to be super strong..

Yes I guess I should have said "cardstock". I don't have a color printer so I take the PDFs to our local UPS shop - they print on a color laser printer. Now I *think* the card they use is #80 and I had wondered about something a little thinner I will look out for some #45 - thanks for the suggestion!
