Discussion > Team Track Loading Ramp

So, I've looked through all of the Shop for Model Kits, and searched for load, ramp, dock, and team, but I cannot find a loading ramp I thought I had seen in the past. The Mercantile kit has a ramp, but it might be a bit short -- of course, doing a little modification would not be too tough.

But first I thought I'd ask if anyone has sen a longer, narrower loading ramp somewhere! Thanks.

Hello MBailey:

Check out the Jackson Collection #3 CD.

At the bottom there is a section of ramps/docks. That may be what you saw and are looking for.

Hope this helps.

Well, phooey. I guess I'll have to spend some money -- $20 for a ramp sounds like a lot, but just look at all the extras. Besides, it has been a while since I've purchased anything. Not a lot of room on a 4X6'4" layout. Look at all the extras, and most of them are small!

In the meantime, I had found a ramp/dock from Team Track Models (oops, did I mention the competition) that I had downloaded for free. But I've found that few cardstock models measure up to the Clever Bros' detail.

I think I'm good, now. Many thanks, Charlie.

It might be worth your while to add the ramp/dock kit to your store. I'd buy it at $5. I already have three of the Jackson #3 structures and the textures so I'm not interested in dropping $20 just for the ramps and docks.

Sounds reasonable. I'll see if we can accommodate you.

Way back I had built a one off team track ramp for our O scale disp;lay layout. Sounds like what your looking for, I wonder if I could find it in the archive.

Thom,

Seems you've got Rick M. covered. Where was the "one off" when I [that was a bold "I" for emphasis, but I couldn't figure how to do it] needed it?!

Just kidding. The Jackson #3 had what I needed plus a couple of electrical relay boxes that I had thought about doing, anyway. Besides, a couple of modeling buddies have come to the rescue. The problem now is that I have way too many ramps to choose from.

Keep up the good work.

Well, I got my "fix" for loading ramp, dock, and team track. Jackson #3 worked out OK. I have to admit to a laser kit for the team track office, but I used several of the sheets from the Clever Bros "CD" download. My skills do not seem to improve much, but I am less concerned with "painting outside of the lines" with cardstock. Check it out: http://blacktop-crossing.blogspot.com/

I continue to be amazed by the work some of the artist do with these kits -- and I'm convinced that anyone doing N scale is either out of their mind or is cheating somehow. Really like to see the work others do.

Keep on keeping on Bros and modelers.

OK, need a little more help! First, and not so important, what is the piece in the Timber Loading Ramp kit that looks like it's supposed to have holes and there are MANY fold lines? I can't quite figure what the purpose/use is -- maybe re-enforcement on the ramp surface or a plate to span the gap between rail car and ramp. . . .

Second, and probably more important, what are the uses for the electrical boxes in the Jackson 3 Collection? Small additions to layouts can add so much interest, but not if they are in the wrong place or the wrong period.
