Discussion > John Kosma's Gypsy Trolley Lines
Well Matt, I don't really know how to answer your question. When you say "How do they compare in sales?" I'm not sure what we are comparing. We really haven't produced too many of Johns designs. A lot of his buildings "inspire" some of our kits, but very few of his buildings actually become full fledged kits. There are only a couple that I can think of. Which are you referring to? Also, we only see John once a year at Trainfest, so we really haven't picked his brain lately.

I was thinking about the urban garages, the repair shop/gas station, etc. To me those were simple and their style were easy to connect with. I've always been fond of the urban ones and I think their brick highlights the advantages of cardstock.

Actually, we haven't done too many of those. The 2 bay Stone Block Garage and Habbaker's Garage are really the only two I can think of that came from John. I do have a small Gas Station that will be out in a week or two, but it's not from John. You have to realize that John is a very prolific builder, but he does one of's that HE builds. None of John's builds are "kits". You can't just take his pieces and put a building together. To make one of his designs a kit takes a lot of additional work. He doesn't worry about how parts fit because he knows how he will fix things on the fly. Very different from producing a fairly precision assembly, that anyone can put together.
