Discussion > HO scale problem
Hello William,
I had found the same problem -- I assume you are talking about the crossing tower. I took a ratio of the size I wanted that door to be divided by the size if was in my "too small" printout; then I multiplied THAT ratio (should be bigger than 1.0) by the % reduction I had printed the "two small" object. That seemed to work OK with me.
Here is my discussion post from a little while back:
Since I determined that the area my grandkids and I are "modeling" actually had a crossing tower AND the layout has been called "Blacktop Crossing", I figured it was about time to fabricate Clever Bros' Crossing Tower. I've had the file since 2013 or so!
I found the scale to be a bit small and adjusted to provide a doorway a little larger than 6 feet (my original printout showed something less than 5 feet). Dave confirmed that it is a SMALL tower, but even suggested printing at a larger percentage for HO using O scale files.
My skills still leave a bit to be desired, but the final results were acceptable to my granddaughter.
Hmm, come to think of it, maybe the tower is not in final form -- I think it needs a smokepipe!!

William,
You're not doing anything wrong. As Mr. Bailey commented, this IS a tiny tower by most standards. His solution is a good one and what I suggest to anyone who wants a kit in a different size. You may have to manipulate the printout a bit to get a larger size to fit on an 8-1/2 x 11 page, but it's not too hard. I can direct you if needed.

Thank you MW and Dave. Now I can start building some other buildings with more confidence.😎

William

I then noticed that my adobe shows the plan at 78% or so. I then increased the adobe plan to 100% and printed at 100%.
It came out too small again. From the bottom to the peak of the roof the HO Tower is 2 and 1/8.
So then I download the O Tower. Adobe showed 78% or so. I increased it to 100%. Then I printed at 55%.
It is the same 2 and 1/8.
What am I doing wrong.
Thanks
