In the works

Here’s somthing I quickly put together from some raw kits to show what’s in the city street scene.  All of these kits are done but need to be built and photographed.  Hoosier Mama, Skippie’s, the coal vender and Central Camera (the sign), the White Castle and the hobby shop are real world buildings.

heres a shot of Rudy’s built. note the interior. All of the new kits have interiors.

Thom and Dave,

Sitting in London right now, waiting to fly back to the States. Those kits are beauties and I can see at least one or two that could make it to the western US. I will be anxious to give them a try. The UK is the land of cardstock kits and I have picked up one just to see how they compare to your marvelous structures. I'm also anxious to see if you had any use for the video of my last clinic.

Jim, the brit kits can look great. there take is more art than photo but I've seen very nice builds done with them. I have a couple of the metcalf and superquick myself. They are a paper over board like a game board) thing.

Ref Brit Kits for Thom,Dave and Jim Gore in ref to brit kits it depends on what scale your doing,in OO/HOwe had Superquick for years, then came Metcalf similar construction techniques but artwork was much improved, laminated card style, also available was Alphagraphix who also did british &mm to the foot (1/43) printed cardstock, new models are now printed on paper and require laminating with card,a new player on the scene is scalescenes which are photo image similar in style to clever models, these are laminated in construction from 200grm paper to 2mm cardstock, they used to do a freebie US style warehouse,on their site but its mostly british style buildings, over the years i have built from all of these manufactures, and have like them all,it depends what i want to model, some i make and give away,or i build a small module and show it at a show, then sell it on,will post some pics thru Thom and Dave of Brit card kits, then readers can see the differance, and how things have changed over the years, its the same with computers etc,
