Dave,

I am glad to see a new model at your web site. The enclosed water tank looks like a straight forward model and not difficult to build.

I did think for what the model is that it was a bit pricey. Then I noted that you offer a disscount if one goes to Facebook. To me this is not fair to those of us who do not belong to Facebook and most likely have no intensions of doing so. I myself had a enough trouble with Myspace. Information hacked and photos stolen, etc.

The down load went smothly. However when one clicks on the button to continue shopping you are diverted to a web site other than yours. For me the only way out was to close the Elplorer then get back on line.

Keep up the good work..

I second the comment regarding Facebook. It is something I will never use and actually find it annoying how pervasive it is. Anyways, to each his own, but I would not make special pricing for facebook users unless you plan to offer some similar discount for non-facebook users. Just my humble opinion, no offense meant.

Also, one of the attractive aspects of Clever Models is the low price. It helps make an impulse purchase possible :) I hope you are able to keep pricing very attractive and rely on volume.

Building season is coming around again. I hope to build something this year!

Regards,

Ben

I might add that I think the enclosed water tank price is reasonable. That said, I have always wondered one thing: Why do you charge more for the same model in larger scales than the smaller scales? Same data, no? Couldnt you just unify the design and do one layout that would work for all scales? I know this might mean more paper use in the smaller scales, but it seems like this would would have minimal cost impact as compared to paying more for kit? What is your rationale, if you dont mind sharing?

I probably won't jump into the fray about pricing or discounts offered to certain groups. I think we all take advantage when we can (Do I get an AARP discount?). Anyway, I don't model anywhere close to Canada or New England, where this water tank might most likely occur. However, I have a friend who has asked me if I would build 5 of them for his layout. So, I figure I will get pretty proficient at this model in both O and HO [I bought both scales; too lazy to fool with all of the scaling, etc.]. By my calculations, other than my labor [which I don't charge for], a price of of about $1.80 per structure is a bargain.

Hi everyone. I'm not sure what is going on with Facebook. To my knowledge, and you would think I'd know, we don't offer any discounts through Facebook. I am just beginning to investigate, so if I were you, I would be wary of any offers you see other than from this website. As far as your comment, John, about being taken to another place all together when you clicked the link to return to our site, please contact me privately at mize1@sbcglobal.net so I can get more detail on this. It shouldn't be happening and hasn't happened on any of the computers we regularly test on. Also, as far as prices go, I will apologize if things seem expensive, but as we said earlier on this blog, expenses keep going up. We try to keep things reasonable and I firmly believe that the product you are getting is worth every penny. Regarding a standard layout for all scales to more unify the pricing, we tried that a while back and you wouldn't believe the comments from the folks in the smaller scales, bemoaning their paper use. That's not to say that we don't listen to our customers. Obviously, we do or you wouldn't be reading this right now. We're doing the best we can in a difficult economy.

Man, I just read my message and the spelling and grammar are atrocious. Must be the college professor in me that gets all upset! My apologies .... that's what you get for typing it at 5am.

As ever, this is a wonderful structure. Keep up all of the good creations!

I think you guys rock, so please take all questions and comments as casual conversation. I would rather pay you a little more and have you around than pay less now and risk losing you guys! I want you in business when I finally build my layout! (some year soon I hope).

Let's have that round table in paper!!

Sorry! Let's have that round house and turn table. Some kind of a mill building fed off of a canal or stream would be cool too!

Ben, there is a round house and turntable somewhere in the works.
Jim don't worry about the spelling. You've read my posts. I even spell thing wrong in kits. I just claim ancient English.

Water tank is essential in storing water for future use. Water is part of everyday life. We use it all the time so it's important to conserve and use it wisely.
