Hi All,

I have just down loaded this kit. I USED PAYPAL FOR PAYMENT. All went well. However, once again I was redirected when I clicked on the link that should have brought me back to your site. http://store.payloadz.com/results/results.asp?m=137420 is where I ended up instead of Clever.net.

All the photos look great and will sure help in building the model,

Thanks again for another fine kit.

Thanks, Marc for the kind comment. Thanks also to Thom and Dave for creating this kit. My Sweetheart, Nancy, told me about this place, and I thought it would make a great model, and I thank her also. The place was originally built in 1905, and was along a major road, through the first European settlement of the area. For a time, the settlement was an important route to the Mother Lode goldfields of California. The Eskimo Pie sign on the south-facing side of the building adds a lot of character to the place. Underneath the front porch, as Thom and Dave point out, has an ornate pressed-tin ceiling. The south-facing side of the building has an oddly-placed low window, which originally was used for a public truck scale. The region around Beattie's was at one time a prolific row crop growing area, and local farmers could stop at Beattie's to weigh their crop before shipment on the nearby railroads (both Southern Pacific, and Western Pacific). Gael,

An excellent contribution to the line! I am really looking forward to building this kit. We had an almost identical store in my home town in New Mexico and will be happy to have the kit on my southwestern layout. Even broke down and got some 8.5 x 14 90lb cardstock to print the kit out. Wow! It's a big building in O scale but it has just the right atmosphere. A wonderful contribution and, Thom and Dave, an excellent desgn.

Thanks, Jim. That would be fantastic to see an O scale build of Beattie's Grocery. Be sure to post a photo!

Gael,

It will take a while. With the holidays coming up and Model Railroader come to photograph my layout in mid-January, I think that Beatties will probably have to wait until February. But ... who knows?

Jim,
I thoroughly understand, and congrats on MR coming to photograph your layout! My HO build of Beattie's Grocery took quite a while, not because of the kit itself, just all kinds of other "interferences" that come along in life!
