Dave,

Absolutely wonderful! When will it be available? I have a couple good spots on the layout.

Well everyone, I'm glad to say that it is already available. It's part of the Coal Dealer building on the 1st Street disc. Also included is a small poured concrete coal bin. (Or other material) If you are at the O scale national next weekend, you'll see them on our display diorama. Actually, I modified this guy just a bit in the way the wheels and chutes mount, but it's nothing that anyone couldn't do.

One more thing folks. If your wondering what that is at the bottom of the middle picture, it's one of our sewer grates. I just wanted to show Bro Thom how it fits against a curb.

Thom and Dave,

I have all of your models and DVD's (except 1). I did a quick search and could not locate the sewer grates. Would you give a hint where to look?

John, they would be on the "first street" dvd as part of the sidewalk texture sheets. the coal loader should be in the "coal vender" folder.

Hi John (and everyone). They are not on their own sheet. They are part of the sidewalk texture that you will find in the EXTRAS folder on the 1st. Street disc. There's only three of them on the whole sheet, so some folks may think it a waste to print out a whole sheet, just to get the grates. BUT, did you know that you can copy and paste from a .pdf file. Oh yes you can.
Open the .pdf file.
Click Tools Menu
Click Select & Zoom
Click Select Tool
Select the area to copy by drawing a box around the item, holding down your left mouse button from where you want the lower left corner of the box and drag the box to where you want the upper right corner and release.
Click on the Edit menu
Click Copy
Open a new Word Document (You can also use Excel, but Word is easier)
Place your cursor anywhere on the screen and click Paste.
Wa La !
You can keep pasting copies as many times as you want to, but notice that the pasted image is huge.
All of the usual Windows editing commands will work on the pasted image. I suggest you size it to what you want (trial and error) and then make copies of the sized element.

Say Dave, you can also past into Photoshop. If you past into Photoshop there is no issue about size.

Thanks for replying to my question about locating the grates. I had forgotten about the extras folder.

I suspect lots of folks don't realize just how much stuff is on each disk. It's worth the time to just go through each disk and see whats there.

Hey John, I usually assume that most folks don't have Photoshop. I figure that if they are running Windows that they probably have Office. Maybe I'm wrong in that assumption.

This is really impressive. I can see that you put a lot of thought in to this. Great job for putting something this good.
