New Freebies

I thought it was time to freshen up the Freebies. I just uploaded two kits for you to enjoy. I think they will be very useful.

one is an 85’ brick chimney and the other is a section of steel and concrete pier. They are HO and O but could be in almost any scale.

Hope you like them

Good to see a couple of new "freebies". It's been a while since I've had time to work on cardstock -- or ANY -- modeling. However, I will comment that your smokestack looks to be a lot easier to construct than the one I did from your old or colonial brick texture sheet. I may have to make the freebie to see how it compares:

I like the square stack; not all smokestacks are round!

you are welcome. I know we haven't done many lately. I'm always fascinated by how quickly word gets around. In a single day our traffic triples (traffic not sales) Usually with in hours so we know people are watching and sharing and that's a good feeling for us. We like giving to the community and keeping prices down. The community grows slowly but its made up of really great people and excellent modelers. I like when I get a note from a less experienced builder how pleased they are with the results they get and that next time they are going to try this or that technique and become more skilled. It's encouraging and we can all use more of that.

I have just completed assembling your beutiful 85' Chimney O gauge. However I am totally flumoxed with the acessories printed on page 3, other than it is a platform or deck surrounding the stack midway. Can you give me a clue as to how these parts are applied? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks, Ron P.S. All of your models that I have purchased have been outstanding. Love the details!

Ron, Thanks, glad you like them. The platform is completely optional. It's not uncommon to see something like that in Chicago.
I took a bit of license because i felt it added interest to an otherwise plain shape.
Its basically meant to be built in board on board fashion. The metal angles are folded face to face with small flaps folded out to affix to the wall of the chimney and support the platform. as the chimney is more or less in halves the platform should sit about 1/3rd down from the top so there will be a small gap between the footboards and the brick.
The metal straps also add a nice amount of interest if you use those. I'd love to see pix.
