Construction trailer

I just finished this trailer office and I have 2 questions for the group. Graphics, does it need them and what kind. axles and wheels? Is this a detail that would be missed? Seems a complex bit to be mostly hidden. Not shown but included in the model are the steps and the air conditioner/heater.

I prefer the freedom to customize signage, so for me it is okay without graphics. I think I would non-paper wheels if I built it with wheels at all.

Great idea, I kinda agree with JT about the signage, easy enough to make your own. Most temp. construction trailers just have a hodge-podge of safety or other type temporary signs anyway, maybe a bulletin board & company name. Might be easier to have the axles w/ no tires, could be set up on blocks or something similar, just a thought.

I agree with the other posts that graphics are not needed. Usually the contractor's sign is out by the road. This will be fun to use. Ever think about doing a 20 foot cargo container?

Thought about cargo containers but there is a guy who is selling them and I don't like the idea of poaching someone eases claim.

I'm in the building design field. On many of our project sites, trailer offices are rentals, so contractor trailer signage is typically a magnet-backed sign attached to the door by the Contractor using the rental trailer. If it's a large, well-off contractor, they may have custom painted trailers with their name and logo painted on the sides. Trailers on small projects, phased projects, and projects with really tight sites, typically have axles/wheels to move the trailer around the site over the course of the project. A neat addition I'd love to see you add is a system for creating the metal decks and stairs typically found connecting multiple trailers together on larger construction sites. For example, the general contractor, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical contractors might each have their own trailer, yet as part of the GC's mobilization costs he rents and constructs a deck and stair system connecting all 4 - or more - trailers together so people can move between trailers without going down to the muddy ground.

I second the motion for you doing cargo containers - and maybe trash containers - as I much prefer your product over the other I've seen online. I would think you could bring something different to the table without being a "copy" and giving consumers a choice.

If I were to do cargo containers they would have to be more involved with folded sides to reproduce the vertical dimension. I just cant do a plain box with graphics. I'll think about it. I also like the ideas about the walkways. If I expand on this into a set i will add them. I already have some of the art for steel stairways and landings.
In the mean time I will be putting up the existing trailer kit in the freebies section later today. A bit of explanation about why I'm doing this. We have so many kits that are ready to release but can't be due to the underlying web updates and backup in test building. I wouldn't ordinarily consider this a freebie. It would be a $2 to $4 download. so I'm going to use this as an opportunity to try something out.
Download the kit, if you find it useful, please donate $2. The kit will stay available as long as a few donations come in. If its still up in a week you will know that this worked satisfactorily and i will release other kits this way. When the new code is updated and working, we will withdraw these and make them available in the usual way. Please understand we will always have freebies, donations or not.
