JULY SALE UPDATE

Folks, here I am to appologize AGAIN.  This is becoming a bad habit.  Orders are going out the door, but a lot slower than I would like.  We still have a bunch to ship.  I’m sorry, no excuses.  Just know that we are working as fast as we can.  Most should go out in the next week or so.  Please be a bit more patient.

Hi all, just a few things.
I am planning to build some oil tanks, and I need some flat rusty steel to make them with .(not corrugated)
One example would be the tanks used in the scratch build contest model from a few years ago, Slippery Oil Co.
Do you have a sheet of flat rusty steel in your texture collection? Also, I have a new model idea.
I found this Photo in collection of old color photographs, and thought this might be kind of a cool build.

Some time ago there was a model of a concrete pier on the Clever site. The copy rite shows 2011. I think the model was in 'O' scale. Within the model there are rusted steel plates.

Some years ago I had the chance to take many photos in Belle Glade, FL. Trust me, very little had changed since the '40s.

Thanks for the info, John.
I thought the structure in the photo was really cool, with the way it was completely made out of battered and somewhat rusty steel siding.
maybe the clever bros. will like it to.
thanks again,
Clark

Hi Clark, Take a look at P/N's T43, T44 & T44B in the CLEVER texture collection. I have used these to make many various size and shape storage tanks. You can also modify the coloring in Photo Shop or any similar photo handling software, I find that a simple shade (light or dark) correction works just fine.

Hi Dave, No appology needed, I'm just glad the sale was successful. I added a few more structures to my collection ( most are still unbuilt).
I eagerly, but patiently await the waterfront DVD, there are some very nice buildings on that DVD. Thanks again for offering these fine models at reduced prices. I have built the Silver City mine shed in several configurations, each one unique. Your models and a little imagination allow unlimited variations, a great addition to any layout.

Thanks, Rick

I have seen the juke joint pic several times and have considered making it a kit. I could happen.

The Waterfront DVD is available. Just click the orange button on the left that says Get DVD's. It's the first one on the list.

No apologies needed. I'm quite happy about the huge discount and must wait a couple of days anyway for shipping the discs across the pond.
Keep up the good work!

HI all, thanks for responding so quickly. I will look into these textures.
I just had one more question.
As you might have guessed, I am building an oil company, Potter Oil Co., after the oil company my great-grandfather started.
In some of the photos of the clever bros. layout, I noticed a small tank marked “fuel” near the marine supply.
I wondered if this could possibly be available in the freebies or downloads section, or, if not, which kit it is in.
Also, I think you guys should make some train bridges.
I think a lot of people would be interested in them.
This type of bridge would clearly be too difficult to construct:

But this type would not be very hard to make:

Thanks again for everything,
Clark

Clark, We have plans for bridges. a lot of work has already been done and a steel plate bridge like the second pic is in the extras of the steel industrial dvd. As for the small oil tank. Its in a few kits but I will put one up in freebies in a few days (remind me if i forget). Why the delay? I'm moving, closing down my fathers house. If all goes well and your attending the KC narrow gauge show you might even see my new home in the hotel parking lot.

Hi Thom, thank you sooooooo much.
You guys are great.
I really needed an oil tank for my layout.
I think you confused me with a different customer.
I am from Massachussets, would really like to go to the show, but it is a bit of a hike.
If you are ever in the Boston area, there is a really great show near my town.
Here is a link:

I think these guys might be really interested in your product.
I know you guys probably won’t be able to come, but check it out if you’re ever in the area.
Thanks again,
Clark.

Clark, that looks like a fantastic club.
We do go east for the Springfield Mass. show. perhaps we can visit Quincy then.

Hi Thom, I really hope you can make it to this show!
That would be awesome.
The show advertises itself as “ the biggest model railroad show in the boston metro area, and one of the larger shows in the state”
It is not as large as the springfield show, but it is pretty big nevertheless.
It is located in an old world war 2 supply warehouse, and they have a massive layout.
A lot of the guys there strive to meet perfection, your models might just give them a new idea about the quality of cardstock modeling.
If it works out and you decide to go, let me know via a post in the blog.
It would be great to meet you and see your layout.
Thanks again,
Clark
