I have officially started work on Firehouse #3. Still in use in Gary, IN

Let the moaning and grousing begin.

PLEASE don't include the Maltese cross #3 on the brick surface. Make it a separate piece and perhaps have several other options. I will buy this kit as soon as it is available but do not want it as branded as Firehouse #3. It also appears to me that the building is modular and that if you wanted a two bay firehouse or even three you could simply glue two or three buildings together.

Very cool. I look forward to it. My son has been asking for a firehouse for his n-scale layout.

The cornice, you will notice is rather involved and ornate. A lot of tricky folding. It could be simplified and no I will not do it both ways. So what do you want, simplified or with all the crenulations?.

Thom,

Speaking for myself, I am a simple man that likes simple things:) But either way works for me.

Oh, regarding Bill's comment: he is right, please don't brand it.

True to the photo works for me. A lot of the character is lost if it is simplified. Having said that, I often build the tricky bits from styrene, wood, or matboard. From experience, I know I can make the piece under the window faster in styrene than I can do it in cardstock.

JT, I certainly don't mind when folks modify or use alternate materials but your cheating yourself of a lot of fun and the pride that comes from being able to say "and its all made from paper".

For the record, it was built in 1912 (per the internet)
