Christmal Village Update to the Update

Dave sent us a whole bunch of really great Christmas Village pix and in my last post I picked only one to share, but they are all so great I just had to show them all off. Thanks Dave and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to you.

Thanks Dave for putting together such a nice collage. I would like to encourage any paper modelers that see this to "just give it a try" if they want a display. This started when Jan told me she would "really like a Christmas village display for the top of the piano" and once agreed that it should have a "Dickens" look I was off and running. It measures 12" x 5' and is mounted on a piece of 2" foam board with 1/8" MDF laminated to the edges with contact cement to make it rigid. All the structures are card and the cobblestone street and walks are paper. The figurines were purchased by Jan from a Lemax dealer and were not wicked expensive. All together I think it cost about $150, though I didn't keep track. I built it from scratch in about a month.
