Modern Steel Textures and buildings update

Just added BROWN, GREEN & WHITE to the BLUE texture that has been available for a couple of days.

I’m wondering.  Do you need for me to release the two modern kits that we have just released in blue, in the other colors, or is it better for you to just buy the kit and the texture color that you want and use the kit pieces as templates for pieces that you make in your color?

I’m not sure what your answers will be, but I’m excited to hear.  Please comment.  I wish I knew how to let you change the color as you print, but I’m not that smart.  If there are any coders out there, I could use some help.

Oh! I just realized that if you make your own wall pieces, the trim pieces will still be blue.  Got to think on that one a bit.

If you have Photoshop you can use the fill command to change colors or you use slider functions from the color chart. One must first select the area to be changed.

The approved method of shifting color is to first segrigate the color you wish to change with a selection. Usually a simple rectangle will do. Then in photoshop use the hue shift slider to change the color. It is found in the (Image/adjust/hue saturation pull down)
The second way to change color is to creat a new empty layer. set the blend mode to "color" and paint or fill the new color. All the detail and shading will be maintained only the color will change.

Dave Graffam Models sells kits in two formats -- PDF and PSD. Some of the PDF files have multiple layers, so you can build the same structure multiple times and make it appear to be made of brick, or wood, or stucco, etc, and you can change the amount of weathering. The PSD files give you even more control. I bought a bunch of his PSD files, and I copy/paste the transparent grunge layers onto Fiddler's Green models.

A bit of an apples and oranges comparison. His models are intended for gamers and are arted rather then photographic. Nice within their genre but wouldn't cut it in our hobby.
We are going to do things for gamers in the future, easier to build, not as scale accurate etc.

I was just suggesting file formats that might work for offering your models in different colors or textures.

Say Dave and Thom, are the sheet metal textures a $1.99 as the others are. I was about to grab all of them but did not see a price.

And to be sure there are many ways to skin the cat in PhotoShop. :) John
