O.K. I know I should be working on other things promised!

Yes, I know that we have promised to release many kits that you have been patiently waiting for.  I applogize for not pushing what we have promised out the door, but sometimes I just have to work on what I feel like working on.  A lot of you have asked us to expand the rolling stock line.  Well guess what, I was just fooling around (when I should have been working) and look what accidentally happened.  Theres still a lot to do and it won’t push in front of the kits already in the queue, I promise.  Just a bit of fun.

Glad to see you doing some passenger equipment As you know I have been doing this with your textures for a while I ran into a stumbling block trying to design a clearstory roof I will be very interested in seeing how you solved the issue

Hi Paul.
I'll be taking the easy road, won't be doing a clerestory roof (probably), although, I do have the geometry worked out. That might come later. Like I said, this particular model will be way down the road.

Well, it's not something I can use right now and it's not what you've promised but in many ways this is the most positive post we've seen in awhile and the best signs for the company long term: it seems like you're loving what you're doing. This joy for cardstock modeling was what made Clevermodels great and it is essential to it's long term vitality.

Will it blow up to O scale?
Although lots of kits (and layout) to finish before starting on stock

As we've said in the past, most (pretty much all) kits are designed in O scale and then scaled down as is this one. The On30 version is structurally a bit different as I try to design around fitting on modified Bachmann narrow gauge frames. The underframe for the HOn30 kit will be paper as I can't find anything I like for modification. One of the design points I use in HOn30 is that any rollingstock be able to negotiate the 5" radius curves on the Madeline Island RR where we use Tomix track. I use Blackstone trucks that have been re-gauged and Talgo mount Microtrains, N scale 1015 couplers.
