A discussion about distruction

A customer who enjoys modifying our kits sent me some ideas about making a damaged structure. He wanted my input. I don’t think he knows the can of worms he’s opening. Here’s a model I did as a prototype for a toy company almost 10 years ago. Its 1/20th scale.

Thats a much kinder comment thank you I do understand the can of worms I have opened with this project and Im sure you have started projects just to test your limits Thats what this is for me I have ideas that I think I can pull off but only time will tell again I am only an amature using amature software and have no interest in becoming an illistraitor But I do like to test my skills

Take into consideration what structures are strongest and least likely to take damage.
The chimney would stay mostly intact. So would stair cases. Next would be the frame. Some of it would be standing, the floors would mostly collapse but might partially hang on around the chimney and stair case. The walls would be random in their destruction and would separate along the lines of the base material. etc.

For those who might be interested I am modeling this in HO scale I am doing as much research as I can to make a credible model I have taken into account most of the things Thom pointed out I am studying war game models to get a better idea But most war game models only use 2 or 3 walls and very few have interior walls that may still be intact I think paper is the ideal media for this type of project First because scale thicknes is acheivable and paper can be folded and torn to acheive a tattered look I am however having trouble with interior walls where would the damage be how would it look My idea is to expose 1/4 of the building at one of the corners for the maximum strength and about 1/2 of the building from a colapsed roof its this interior damage that has me stumped for now because so little of this has been done

Paul, Google ' Verlinden Models' ost of the Verlinden line is 1/35 scale. But they are masters at creating the type of structure you speak of. Perhaps you can get some ideas from them. John

PS Paul each day I get a little stronger. Thanks for your concerns. John
