Kitbashing

Paul Egri and Dave Rarig teamed up to create this kitbash mine. Paul used the art from our “Silver City” Mine building to create this extensive modification. Great work.

Just shows how far one kit can be stretched.

This mine complex is not finished, but Paul wanted to show what can be done with your great kits! I'm going to install it on a 3' x 7' HOn30 layout I'm building on a flush door. It will feature this mine, a sawmill and a small port, as well as many additional Clever Models and some of my own design - all done in card stock and cardboard.

The Silver City Tool House is one ob my favorite kits for kitbashing I have done no less than 4 major kitbashes with it I fell in love with the textures and would love to see what others can do with this kit perhaps Thom would sponcer a contest Ithink it would be interesting to see what the master modelers who work in paper can do with this here is the link for the model http://hon3annual.com/silver-city-tool-shop/ I hope Thom doesnt mind me posting it here

Ron
It has always been available in all four major scales. It is kit S41 and is about 3/4 of the way down the "GET MODELS" page. You could have used the "SEARCH" button to find it also.
This is really Dave but I was logged in as Thom when I made this comment. Sorry Bro.

Not wanting to mislead anyone the Silver City Tool House and the Silver City Mine shed are not the same buildings The tool house was done for the HOn3 Annual and is not offered by Clever it uses a totally different set of textures That is why I posted a link to the kit instead of just refering to the kit number But with careful planning almost any of the steel buildings in the collection can produce a mine like this and that was my intent to show the limitless kitbashing that can be done with paper models

Ron Ebregt, The comment made by Paul is accurate. As far as I am aware this design was only produced in HO scale for the feature in the magazine, so if you need it in O scale I would suggest you print the HO version at 181% enlargement to get to O scale. That would require a large format printer; alternately print it in HO, cut it into manageable segments and copy those at 181%. One of the best features of computerized card modeling is the ability to change modeling scale without buying a separate kit. I have built a number of the Clever kits in scales ranging from 1/650 to 1/48 (O). It just takes some different settings with your printer.

Sorry guys. I really didn't stop to think that you were talking about the tool house. My brain just zeroed in on the mine shed. Dave is absolutely right that the tool shed has never been generally available. It's been over a year since the annual. I know we suggested that the kit would be exclusive, but... Maybe I can talk Thom into an O scale version.

I think this kit is an exelent kit and has always been one of my go to kits for kitbashing It uses textures that are not on any of the other metal buildings so it gives you another shade of material to work with I think it would be a great addition to your growing list of buildings

I have an O scale version of the 'tool house' ready right now. and the texture is available in the textures vol2 dvd
