Still needs something

 Lucky & Knotts Mining Supply.

Here’s a CG render of where it is, right now, but it needs something.  Maybe a veranda and wood plank base. I’m open to ideas .This will be a freebie for a very short time .

Wood-plank boardwalk in front, similar to the Western Store Front. Possibly a stone base to bring it up to the height of the WSF.

That front door within a larger door is neat, but the whole thing looks like more of a back door to me.

How about a raised plank base all round?

This, at the front, could double up as a boardwork if used as a store, or could equally be used trackside as a loading platform.

At the rear the base could project just a small about - raised loading area, with a short flight of stairs.

Some alternative signage, perhaps a livery, blacksmith, carriage maker, etc.

I agree with the raised-plank base all around. I just happen to have a space for it on my layout!

A chimney or smokestack, a gutter and a downpipe in a barrel to catch the rainwater and a canopy above the side door. Regards.

another window on the long wall, also move the small add-on
to a different location or orientation, or build out that wall and
add a window, or get rid of the add-on and add another window

perhaps more of a store front look with a display window for the shovels, pick axes and TNT.

I'm with Richard -- a storefront would be nice.

Also, a blank sign for those of us who like to make our own.

If you gussy it up this much, you might as well sell it as a regular kit when its freebie days are over!

dan h's first idea, if you are going to re do it, some sort of a
stone foundation, and a front plank walk

Another thought after reading all the above.......

Do one of the basic suggestions for the freebie and maybe add on the drains, gutters, alternative storefront or whatever in the paid kit?

I actually like the front as it is though - it is different, and there are already tons of stores. This building at the moment has more of a feel of small industry supplier which I think is nice and would add more variety and scope to a layout or diorama.

I think letting the public in on the design is a very good idea For me a storefront and a board walk would be my choice

a store front will not be a option on this kit. there are lots of them available and more importantly new stores coming like "cash market" and others

Thom, What I meant by store front was a simple door and a large rectangle window. Nothing fancy but that's OK. I'm sure
I can use what you have to offer and make my own witch is the whole idea behind your models right. Looking forward
to seeing how your finished design turns out. Richard

A brick or stone chimney, Nights and winters can be harsh.
An outside workbench/shelf attached to wall
Agree with board walk, or raised flooring to include front entry and add on shed, on posts, on whihc structure would sit. Would also provide loading dock to rear Steps to get up and down.
