This looks like an interesting model of a clever building. One observation: It seems that the outside steel bracing would be appropriate for horizontal wood siding. I think a SR&RL boxcar would have vertical wood siding without outside steel bracing. Can the boxcars of the model be built with the bracing omitted?

My dealings with the guys at Clever Models has been nothing but positive. They have been immensely helpful to me. That goes particularly for Dave. Any nitwit who would threaten Dave and Thom the way that $3.and something yahoo did should be told to take his business to any place he pleases but never again darken the e-mail of Clever Models. Hey, guys, don't let some malcontent get you down.

Sometimes we just make things because we like the way it looks and the prototype be hanged. Notice that the siding in the photo is horizontal. Our existing boxcar kits have vertical siding. We didn't feel like changing it. The kit is intended to have the braces. Can you build it without the braces? I can. I'll bet, if you tried, you could too. Just get creative. Print an extra page to get more siding and cut and paste to your hearts content. Easier than shaving the braces off a resin kit that has them molded on.

I just have to figure out a way to blank out the SR&RL designation. I think a few extra boards should do the trick.
