Well, I've been thinking. You KNOW there is probably trouble afoot.

We have been getting a lot of new customers lately.  Folks who are just discovering this website.  They have been asking about what the previous FREEBIES were and is there any way to get them.  As most of you know, that have been around a while, when we accumulate 300 sales, a new freebie displaces the current one.  This is great for you folks that have been around a while.  You probably have all 21 of them.

So, the new folks would have a chance to acquire them and to be fair to all you faithfull customers out there, I have been thinking about a “FREEBIE SALE”.  What?  Sell free models?  Maybe?  What do you all think.  I’m looking for your opinions.  I may even follow them.  Know one thing.  If it happens, it won’t be for long and it won’t be cheap.  Probably something like $40.00 for all of the 20 previous freebies.  The current one is still free, DUH.  No partial deals.  No extra work for me.  They would be “as is”.  Earlier ones are pretty simple and maybe have instructions.  More recent ones are more like full kits.

What do you think?  Let me know.

P.S.  As long as I’m asking, what do you think of me converting them all to kits for individual sale?

I can assure everyone that at $40 those 20 would be a steal. At least half ARE full kits. iI recall at the onset you said you would probably upgrade some or all to kits for sale.

I see no reason for you not to make these individual kits. They are your intellectual property and you should sell them to anyone who wants them.

Dave, Count me in to buy the full set! Great idea...
Thanks, Sam

Offer them ALL as a flash drive collection and also on the site as individual kits ., you do this with the rest of your kits offer them as both.

The reason I started modeling in card stock with your kits and textures is because I got Creekey as a freebe. years ago.

They woulds sell like the proverbial HOT CAKES !!!

I see no reason why you shouldn't sell them when they are replaced with a new one,
When I first discovered your site and having not built a card kit for about 50 years I was worried that either wouldn't look as good as the pictures or would be beyond my capabilities and not sure that would have bought one to try. Since downloading that freebee I have purchased more than I need and am still buying them "just in case"

On another subject I'm building a 1/35 scale model in a box file for a coemption being run by a local model shop and are printing textures and odd bits of different kits at 125% and that works fine

Dave,

I think that's a great idea and, as someone else said, at $40.00 they are a steal. Depending on what those freebies are, I might consider purchasing them as well. I'm only sorry that I discovered this website only last year and missed out on all of the early freebies.

I have been collecting your kits for awhile. I have all the freebies, plus a complete collection of your DVD's. I keep following the site and love to see the new freebies come out. I think that as you have done the work you should offer them up for sale once the freebie portion is over. It would almost be a waste to see the effort not made available to newer customers. For those of us following the site there is no loss, and you could make a return on your efforts in producing them. Excellent idea

It's your intellectual property to do with as you see fit. If it were mine, I would start releasing the freebies as kits for sale, starting with the earliest ones. Not all at once, but one or two at a time to create more buzz. Perhaps have a 1 or 2 year period between the offering of the freebie and its release as a kit for sale.

Really think as a flash drive and individual kits is the way to go ……………...you deserve to get something back and I really think they would sell

As far as I am concerned, I probably have half of the free kits. most of the rest of them are not relevant to my time period. I would be interested in ones that I missed & not the whole set. Jerry

I love the kits, free or paid. Even if I don't build the complete kit, there are pieces that I use in other scenes. Any way you decide to go, making these older kits available will only create more interest. I'm a slow builder so sometimes the simpler kits are easier for me but I like a challenge sometimes, too. Thanks for keeping your site open and affordable.

I had always ASSUMED that if you missed out on the FREEBIE, you could at least go back and PURCHASE it. I think you should put them FOR SALE as soon as they move out of FREEBIE. Keep ya checking back. AND, for what its worth, $40 for 20 kits is one heck of a deal. I'D purchase a set!
