A really neat build from Rich Slocum

Rich started off with the Red Insulbrick version of our Small Chicago House.  Then he stripped off the stone foundation and made it into a street level storefront and as you can see, it’s an antique shop.  Removing the foundation changes the entire character of the building.  I like it so much, you can bet I am going to copy the idea.  He also added a large glass bay window just packed with merchandise.  He scratch-built a full interior and made the roof removable so it can be appreciated.  You can’t really tell, but there is a clear false roof to protect the inside from the elements.  The shingle work is also really well done.  Good job Rich and thanks for sharing.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY TO ALL YOU DADS OUT THERE.

I just want to thank all you dads for what you do for your kids.  One of those things is passing on the love of model railroading.  With it comes the dedication to preserving the past, the great history of how railroads help  build this great nation.  Modeling teaches many skills that will be of great benefit in the future.  Problem solving.  Figuring out how to do something that you haven’t done before. The beauty of nature and how to duplicate it in miniature.  That’s pure art.  There’s so much more that can be taught by you dad.  THANK YOU from Clever Models.

Another quarantine build by Bob Bruce

Bob has just sent these pictures of his slightly modified, really cleanly built version of the Patch House Kit.  You’ll notice that he modified the roof with more rustiiiic wood shingles, built a new stone and brick foundation and really detailed the windows.  Bob’s builds are some of the best out there.  A true craftsman.
