New textures

We have recently been asked to offer a couple of new textures that would be similar to what our respected competitor, Paper Creek offers.   Specifically the tar papers.  We have until now, purposefully, stayed away from doing so.  We respect their product and want it to continue.  To be straight forward, we have seen several new competitors in the paper model world, even Walther’s.  Most of them don’t make a product that we feel reflects the quality image that we are trying to establish with our careful attention to image quality and design.  Paper Creek has made great kits until their recent suspension of business.  We sincerely hope they return to the market.  We have made an effort to approach them to see if there is a way we could help to keep their product available but have received no reply.
Long story short, we have added several new textures, specifically roofing materials, that are similar to what is no longer available from PC.  We will also be offering western style buildings to fill out a line begun by our western store.
We feel this is a fair action and hope you all will agree.  Let us know your thoughts.

Thom,

As you know, I have been advocating for the tarpaper material that PC offers for a long time. Although I am devoted to Clever Models and their fantastic array of structures and textures, in a lot of applications (especially when I am scratchbuilding out of wood [I know, perish the thought]), PC's irregular tarpaper really fits well into my needs for more dilapidated roofing on many of my western structures. As for the limited range of western structures offered by PC, they are (or were) great but, in truth, I have replaced almost all of mine with Clever products or scratchbuilt ones. I would love to see a replacement for the PC irregular tarpaper sheets.

Your wish is our command. We have added several new tar papers. I think printed on regular typing paper they should be effective.

I really miss the Paper Creek shingles. To my mind and for my money there is nothing on the market that can hold a candle to them.

Guess you'll just have to suffer through with ours, or not. I was really lookin forward to that dollar twenty five. Guess tinyTim woun't make it after all. Besides that if you hold a candle to them they will catch on fire. ;)

I have purchased the gray shake shingles. I just feel the laser cut ones from Paper Creek where a better product (sorry)

Please! Don't take this as an insult. It is not meant to be one. It is just one modelers opinion. I have used your tar paper roofing and brick pattern paper with great success.

The only product that you sell that I would want pre-cut are the shingles.

Russ, We appreciate your opinion, We had some tests laser cut and they looked great even though they were not cut to our standard. The price of cutting one sheet is atrocious and laser cutting is a one at a time process.Should business picks up, we will likely have several different laser cut product but we can't through money at it. When we can we will. I wish paper creak was still around but they had about a dozen products and we have over a hundred. You can cut out our shingles. It's been done to great effect and it's not hard.

I wanted to drop a comment to express my thoughts on your recent decision. Firstly, I really appreciate your honesty and respect for your competitor, Paper Creek. It's truly refreshing to see a company in the paper model world that values the quality and image of the products they offer.

I completely understand your hesitation to step into the realm of tar papers and roofing materials that were once synonymous with Paper Creek. It's evident that you take your commitment to quality seriously, and it's commendable how you've carefully considered the impact of this decision on the market.
