Hang in there everyone. It's not THAT bad!  Announcement

Hi everyone.  Yeah, this is a tough time, but we are model railroaders and gamers.  We will get through it.  I want to thank you all for making the quarantine sale a great success.  And I don’t mean for me.  Although I love the sales, I really want you all to devote some extra time to your modeling.  I still have to work my day job, so I don’t really have any extra time, but if you do, go for it.  Try something you have been wanting to get done forever.  You may have noticed that the FREEBIE count is 000.  With the sale going on, you all blew past the 300 sales goal so fast, even I was amazed.  Problem is, even though we were alteady close to 300 before the sale, I wasn’t ready with the new freebie.  So, I promise you, it will get put up as soon as I can get it finished.  It won’t be long.  In the mean time, I am suspending the freebie count while the sale is going on because I will probably owe you another one as soon as I get this one posted.  I’m trying to do new kits and it is just hard to keep up.  I’m trying something new with this freebie.  It will be much more like a full kit than a freebie.  It is a modification (enhansement) of an existing kit, but with a lot of new features and details.  It should have been easy to do, but you know me,  I just can’t stop adding stuff.  So please be patient.  And thank you for your support.  One last thing.  I know that you can use the contact page to talk to me, but I would really like to suggest that you use it to ask about things that you really want to know about.  Like techniques I use to assemble and enhane kits.  Many of you have blown right past me in your abilities, but I’ll bet  there are still some things I can tell you to make your builds more successful.  Keep in touch.

FREEBIE #14 download fixed (I hope!)

Hello folks.

Some of you have reported getting a strange error message when trying to open the Stone Grainery Freebie.  The message had to do with a “style” in the XML file.  Well, I had a hard time beliving this one, and even told some customers that the problem MUST be on their end.  Well, time to eat crow here.  I was WRONG and I appologize if I ticked you off.  YOU WERE RIGHT.  Anyway, I’m pretty sure I have the issue fixed and I’m pretty embarrased, because it was something dumb and I should have seen it right away.  Again, my sincere appologies.  I hope I haven’t permanently chased you away.  You know who you are and if you contact me at <mizewon@gmail.com> I will try to make it up to you.

Cordially, Dave

New FREEBIE posted

For you fans of this website, you have already noticed that the MAGIC NUMBER is back to 5 and you know what that means.  The new freebie posted is called the Small Stone Grainery.

Recently I changed the number of sales needed to generate a new freebie from 200 to 300.  I’m sure you all didn’t like it, but it makes good financial sence to me.  BUT, because you have all been waiting so patiently, I hought that you deserved a little something more for your money.  So, this freebie, instead of being just a simple couple of pages with no insructions, is really a full fleded kit.  I think I could have easily sold it for $7.00 and you would probably have bought it.

Anyway, the Grainery is a completely detailed kit with full instructions and a beautiful illustration.  I also fulfilled a couple of requests and numbered the parts to make assembly easier to understand.  (This may stay, may not.  Please let me know what you think.)

The footprint is about 13’-9” x 13’-9” x 23’-3” tall.  There is an optional dormer (not really optional, as that is how they would have loaded grain) that can be placed on either side.  It is on a separate sheet so you can easily make 2 or 3, if you wish.

All in all, it is a great little kit to cut your teeth on.  Plenty of detail, but very simple to build.  You can complete this kit easily in a weekend or a fairly long evening.
